“Parents and families are the first educators of their children.”
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS)
At School of the Good Shepherd, we recognise that educating and nurturing each child is a shared responsibility between families, the parish and the school. In keeping with the vision of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), we value parents and carers as essential partners in their children’s learning, faith development and wellbeing.
We are committed to building positive, respectful and collaborative relationships that foster a strong sense of belonging, trust and shared purpose. Through open communication, active participation and shared decision-making, we seek to strengthen the connection between home, school and parish, ensuring every child feels known, valued and supported to flourish.
Our school community provides many opportunities for families to participate in school life, contribute their knowledge and skills, celebrate our Catholic faith and embrace the cultural diversity that enriches our community.
Through these partnerships, we work together to nurture the whole child spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically and to live out our school motto, “Known by Your Name.”
At School of the Good Shepherd, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to student learning, wellbeing and success. We value the contribution of our parents and carers and recognise that their involvement enriches our school community, strengthens relationships and helps foster a genuine sense of belonging.
We warmly encourage parents and carers to participate in school life in ways that reflect their interests, skills, availability and experience. There are many opportunities to contribute to classroom learning, school activities, community events and the ongoing development of our school. Through working together, we create a connected and supportive environment in which every child is encouraged to flourish.
